The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) was founded in 1997 to advocate for the expanded hiring, retention, and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. In celebration of the MCCA’s 20th Anniversary we are moving our annual General Counsel Summit (“GCS”) to Miami, April 19-22 at Turnberry Isle Miami Resort. GCS is a three and a half-day conference that combines golf, legal education and career development in an intimate and relaxed environment.
MCCA would like to invite members of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia, Inc. to join us at this year’s General Counsel Summit and the Young Lawyers Reception, which will kick-off the conference. This reception is free for your leadership and members, and will take place on Wednesday, April 19 from 6 – 8 PM at Turnberry Isle Miami Resort. We also welcome your members to register for our conference and participate in GCS Mentor Groups, and our professional development program called Sources of Success ™ for junior and mid-level attorneys. Our GCS Early Bird Discount remains in effect until March 18. Be sure to register by then to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to learn, connect and develop relationships with senior industry leaders.

The 2017 theme provides the opportunity to explore the many ways that the Fourteenth Amendment has reshaped American law and society. Through its Citizenship, Due Process and Equal Protection clauses, this transformative amendment advanced the rights of all Americans. It also played a pivotal role in extending the reach of the Bill of Rights to the states. Ratified during Reconstruction a century and a half ago, the Fourteenth Amendment serves as the cornerstone of landmark civil rights legislation, the foundation for numerous federal court decisions protecting fundamental rights, and a source of inspiration for all those who advocate for equal justice under law.
