Katy Appleby, Law Student Committee Co-Chair

Practice Profile

Katy Appleby has been a member of the Stonewall Bar Association since she first moved to Atlanta in 2016, she joined the Board of Directors in 2018. She is Co-Chair of Stonewall’s Law Student Committee, which connects the bar association with current law students to assist in mentoring and networking. She is an associate at BakerHostetler, where she focuses her practice on healthcare provider transactions and regulatory counseling. Katy also serves on the Board of Directors for Safe Kids Georgia, an organization which promotes childhood safety and works to end preventable childhood injuries.

Prior to moving to Atlanta, Katy graduated with honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During her time in law school, Katy spent time as an extern with Honorable Judge O’Malley on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit as well as a law clerk with The Cleveland Clinic, a nationally recognized hospital system in northeast Ohio. While completing her studies, she served as an executive editor to Case Western’s Health Matrix: Journal of Law and Medicine as well as co-president of the Moot Court board. While Katy originally hails from Colorado, she completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Business Administration at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
