Teresa Pardiñas, Law Student Outreach Co-Chair
Teresa Pardiñas became a member of the Stonewall Bar Association in 2018 and joined the Board of Directors in 2020. Teresa is Co-Chair of the Law Student Outreach Committee and is on a governance committee involved in the formation of a southeastern regional bar association spanning from Virginia to Texas. She is also a Project Coordinator for Latino LinQ, a non-profit organization that serves the Latinx LGBTQ community of Georgia.
Teresa previously clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division, for the Middle District of Georgia. Her work focused on medical malpractice, employment law, and premises liability. She also held a judicial clerkship with the State Court of Dekalb County. Before law school, Teresa had an extensive career in law enforcement. There, she realized what advocacy meant to her and chose to leave law enforcement in order to continue her service to the public in a different capacity. Currently, Teresa is an associate attorney with Steele Law, LLC in Buckhead. Her main focus areas are medical malpractice and personal injury.
Teresa is a graduate of the Mercer University School of Law. While there, she earned a position on the Mercer Law Review, worked as a Research Assistant, served as a committee member to the Student Bar Association, and also earned Mercer Law’s Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting. For two consecutive years, Teresa was president of Mercer OUTLaw and was awarded the Kay Young Scholarship to attend Lavender Law. During her second year as president, Mercer OUTLaw was awarded the Kay Young Scholarship and a record number of students were able to attend Lavender Law in Philadelphia. At graduation, Teresa was admitted to the Order of Scribes and was awarded a Faculty Award for her exceptional legal writing and leadership skills, respectively.
