Thomas H. Johnson III became a member of the Stonewall Board in 2025. Ze graduated from Young Harris College in 2017, before entering the Peace Corps in Guatemala, serving as a Rural Extension volunteer. Mx. Johnson studied at Mercer Law, becoming the president of Mercer OUTLaw in 2022. Ze assisted members of Mercer’s OUTLaw receive the Kay Young Scholarship in 2022 and 2023.

During zir first summer at Mercer, Mx. Johnson interned with the Houston County Public Defender, and now works as an Assistant Public Defender in Houston County. Ze entered the legal field with simple goal of helping people, which ze does every day as a public defender. Mx. Johnson continues zir lifelong love of the outdoors and Pokemon by playing zir Nintendo DS at the Ocmulgee National Historic Park whenever ze has the opportunity.
